About Bamboo Flooring

Bamboo, which is actually a grass, grows so quickly that it’s ready for harvest in just a few years. Rather than culling forests that take decades to develop, responsible consumers appreciate that bamboo matures to a height of about 50 feet in as little as three years. When bamboo is harvested, the stalk continues to grow, so replanting is not required.

If deforestation worries you, bamboo is an ideal choice. Bamboo flooring comes mainly from controlled bamboo forests in China. When you choose a floor made from this material, not only does it look good – it also makes you feel good, as you’ll know that you haven’t sacrificed already jeopardized rainforests for style.

If you’re considering bamboo flooring, you’ll be pleased to know that while it’s a responsible home renovation choice, you won’t be giving up quality and style for your ethics. Bamboo makes for extremely durable flooring, and is harder than many solid woods, so it stands up even better to wear, scuffs, and denting than the wood floors you’re used to. Bamboo is more durable than many oak, walnut, and maple varieties.

Since bamboo is a tropical plant, it’s naturally resistant to moisture and humidity. It can withstand expansion and contraction much better than many solid woods, and holds up to stains and household spills very well.

Going for a bamboo floor won’t mean sacrificing the array of colours that solid woods offer. Bamboo is a natural fibre, colour and grain variations naturally occur. Tong Ling Bamboo Flooring is available in a variety of hues. Bamboo flooring is also available with the design of the nodes or connective joints characteristic of this plant. Some home decorators appreciate the distinctiveness these nodes bring to a floor, but if that isn’t you, choose bamboo flooring that doesn’t show them.

Tong Ling Bamboo Flooring is extremely durable and more hard wearing than most other wooden floors. It can withstand pets, lighted cigarettes, spillage and heavy or constant traffic. Tong Ling Bamboo Flooring is suitable with under floor heating. It can be installed in entrance hallways, kitchens, bedrooms, lounges, games rooms and even bathrooms. With 6 UV coatings, it provides a smooth, dust free surface, which is very easy to maintain and is ideal for allergy and hay fever sufferers. A light vacuuming and a wipe with a damp cloth is all that is needed to maintain this superb wooden flooring's appearance.

About Strand Woven Bamboo Flooring

Strand woven bamboo is considered the most stable natural wood known for flooring, and one of the hardest woods known to exist. Strand woven bamboo is made by compressing strands of the bamboo fibers under intense pressure, while using a heat-sensitive low-VOC adhesive. Then the planks are milled with an exact fitting four sided tongue and groove. A slight micro-bevel edge gives definition to each plank. Strand woven bamboo is extremely exotic and rich looking - through woven process, the consistency found in the traditional bamboo styles is completely removed. It makes this beautiful new floor ideal for any high traffic, high wear setting.

Tong Ling Strand Woven Bamboo Flooring exclusively uses Noway Dyno adhesives for the construction of the strand woven planks. Dyno is free of components classified as hazardous to the environment. There are no solvents, heavy metals, bactericides, or halogenated organic components. Tong Ling Strand Woven Bamboo Flooring is now the hardest bamboo flooring available in the market, about twice as hard as traditional horizontal & vertical bamboo flooring. With high density and superior durability and non-splits, it is ideal for public houses, bars, shops, offices, industrial buildings and commercial, retail and heavy traffic areas in the home.

About Mulberry Hardwood Flooring

With strand woven, mulberry branches are thrashed, woven, bundled and pressed into a dense compact block. The block is then sliced into exceptional long flooring planks. The long style planks are milled with an exact fitting four sided tongue and groove and then finished to create an exceptional floor with stunning visual appeal. A slight micro-bevel edge gives definition to each plank. Strand woven mulberry can be cut, installed, and sanded like conventional hardwood flooring options.

Tong Ling Mulberry Hardwood Flooring exclusively using Noway Dyno adhesives for the construction of the strand woven planks, can be installed in entrance hallways, kitchens, bedrooms, lounges and games rooms.  With its unique and beautiful texture, Tong Ling Mulberry Hardwood Flooring comes in two tones: natural and stained walnut colours for sophisticated residences and prestige commercial buildings.

Bamboo Flooring help to save our mother earth from global warming

Today's very real environmental threats, particularly global warming, require all of us to be proactive in our march to protect our delicate ecosystems. It's not as monumental a task as one would think. If we all do a little, in any way we can, it will be a step in the right direction.  We wanted to give the global economy an alternative away from deforestation for flooring, by providing these goods in a beautiful, sustainable material, Bamboo.

Bamboo is actually not a wood but a grass, and it grows fast and is ever renewing itself. Bamboo takes in greenhouse gasses, sequesters nitrogen and produces 35% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees, making it an efficient replenisher of fresh air. Imagine that, flooring and accessories that will help save our atmosphere!

Bamboo is arguably one of the world's best sustainable resources with a growth rate of up to 3 feet or more per day. Bamboo can be harvested in 4-5 years unlike traditional hardwoods that can take up to 50-75 years. Bamboo also stabilizes the earth with its erosion preventing roots, and improves the health of the soil.

Our Bamboo apparel is also good for our ecosystems because Bamboo does not require pesticides, insecticides, or fertilizers, and does not involve the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

For all these reasons, we must and we can, shift away from using hardwoods in our flooring. Bamboo offers an amazing alternative that will help in our march to stop global warming.
